Sliquid Silk

For today's review, I'll be looking at Silk by Sliquid. Click any picture to see the full version!

Close up:
Size comparison:

Like all lubricants by Sliquid, Silk is vegan friendly, and free of any parabens, glycerin, or gluten. Silk is a hybrid lube, meaning it's a water based lube with silicone blended in. Thus ordinarily you do not want to use this with a silicone toy, however it is safe for any other material such as latex, rubber, glass, etc. Now there are a few toys with especially high grade silicone that can work with some quality hybrid lubes without causing them to deteriorate, however, I don't think it's worth the risk.1

Silk is a very creamy lube, and has a nice glide to it. Appearance wise, it's fairly similar to bodily fluids. It melts faster depending on how warm your body is, and the silicone leaves a slippery surface. It also absorbs into skin fairly easily, making reapplication or splashing with water a necessity. As a hybrid lube, I expected it to last longer than it did, which was unfortunate. Though this is a rather creamy lube, it is still thin and thus I would not recommend it for anal. For removal, a quick wash with soap and water will do.

The container shown is Sliquid's 8.5oz, the largest size they sell. I've noted before that I wish Sliquid's lube came in larger containers, and to be fair, this is pretty hefty. For volume, this is just over double the size of their ordinary bottle.

Ingredients: Purified Water, Plant Cellulose (from Cotton), Isopropyl Palmitate, Polysorbate 20, Dimethicone, Emollient Ester, and Potassium Sorbate

Though this is hypoallergenic, I would recommend testing on an inner thigh before any genital use, and discontinue if any irritation occurs. This lubricant is unflavored, unscented, and non-staining. There is a very light scent, but I haven't been able to place what exactly it smells like, and furthermore it isn't noticeable on skin.

If you're looking for a lube to imitate bodily fluids, Silk may be right up your alley. Otherwise, for a general lube, I would suggest Satin.

1 If you do want to take that risk, I recommend testing on the base or any less important area.

Grade Breakdown:79

Value: 4/5
If this is what you're looking for, it's well priced.

Aesthetics: 16/20
Eh, I like Sliquid's blue bottle better.
Also due to the size, you really have to squeeze.

Pleasure: 59/75
Intended Functionality: 5/5
Lubricates, especially good for masturbation and vaginal sex.
Reusability: 18/20
The flip top is rather annoying, as I've noted before.
Best Functionality: 36/50

Sliquid Rejuvenation

For today's review, I'll be looking at Rejuvenation by Sliquid. Click either image to see an enlarged version!

Close up:

This is one of Sliquid's sensual massage oils- it also comes in french vanilla, coconut lime verbena, and unscented. Rejuvenation has a mandarin basil scent, which is fantastic and sweet, yet not over powering. The oil is rather thin, and has a nice glide when massaging. It wasn't sticky, and left skin feeling soft. I find it particularly fantastic for external genital massage. You don't want to use it vaginally as oils can mess with one's pH balance and lead to bacteria growth, nor do you want to use it anally as the oil would cling onto bacteria that's intended to leave the body.

Ingredients: Sweet Almond Oil, Coconut Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Macadamia Nut Oil, Jojoba Seed Oil, Mango & Shea Butter, Vitamin E, Certified Organics Extracts of Flax, Green Tea, Hibiscus & Aloe Barbadensis, Natural Essence of Mandarin, and Natural Essence of Basil

So anyone with nut allergies will unfortunately need to get another massage oil. As you can see though, there are no parabens or glycerin in this product; it's also vegan. My favorite use for this oil was as aftercare to a scene, especially one with wax play. It's also fun to use in the shower as it won't come off unless scrubbed with soap. Though it does leave a lingering scent, it's not that strong and would not work so make you smell like the oil for an extended period of time. It is lovely for a relaxing massage though, or as a bit of foreplay exploration. This product may stain fabrics though, as it's an oil. It's also inadvisable to use with any latex products you want to keep, as the latex will be destroyed.

Once again, Sliquid's flip-top is the worst thing about their product. At least with Sliquid lubes they're thicker and tend not to spill down the sides- not so with their massage oil. The outside of the container became slick rather quickly, and it's well worth transferring the oil to a pump bottle.

Grade Breakdown: 86

Value: 4/5
If I didn't own this, I would have bought it for $14.

Sliquid Satin

For today's review I'll be looking at Satin by Sliquid

I only have two negative things to say about Satin: one- it doesn't come in a pump bottle (though that's easily fixed), and two- it isn't sold in larger volumes. That is all. Satin is by far my favorite lube, whether playing with myself, partners, or toys. It's a water based lubricant so it's silicone friendly and latex friendly. Satin also has Aloe Vera, giving it a cushier feel than most lubes. Satin has a bit of a taste, it's rather subdued though and I've only noticed it when tasting Satin alone, when on genitalia it's not recognizable. It has a scent, though only when smelling the entire bottle rather than a bit of lube, which I find reminiscent of soap. It can be used for anal, though I would go with an even thicker lube like Sassy or Maximus. I find Satin lasts longer than most water based lubricants, though certainly not as long as a silicone based lubricant. Since it is water based though, a little water itself can wake the lube right back up. When finished, one can either use soap and water to rinse off the lube, or rub it in as a moisturizer

Satin is actually designed for daily use for any vulva owner who has regular dryness due to menopause, medication, etc. Like all Sliquid products, Satin is paraben free and glycerine free, though if any irritation occurs, one should stop using it.

Satin is also vegan, and the ingredients are as follows:

Purified Water, Plant Cellulose (from Cotton), Carrageenan, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera), Natural Tocopherols (Vitamin E), Cyamopsis (Guar Conditioners), Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid

Grade Breakdown: 98

Value: 5/5
At Eden Fantasys for just under $23
for 8.5 ounces

Aesthetics: 19/20
A simple container, though I like the blue.

Pleasure: 74/75
Intended Functionality: 5/5
Keeps vulvas moist if experiencing dryness.
Reusability: 19/20

The flip top is rather annoying.
Best Functionality: 50/50

It's a fantastic lube, and I like it best with my other toys.
