Grim Reaper

For today's review, I'll be looking at the Grim Reaper by Divine Interventions. Click any of the images for a larger version!

 Sides:

With the Devil:

I expected the Grim Reaper to be similar to the Devil- they're around the same size, seem to have the same amount of pointy-ness, have almost identical bases, and are about the same weight. They even both have raised arrows on their backs- though the Reaper's are closer together and also has a scythe. However while the Devil's pointy areas are slightly rounded (nose, horns, ears), the Reaper's hood is not rounded- those two tips are as pointy as they look.

Grim requires lots of water-based lube, and even then can still cause discomfort when inserting as the hood's points are at the beginning of the dildo. The only time I inserted this toy painlessly was after an orgasm, and even then Grim needed to be slathered in lube. Now for anyone who enjoys the bittersweet line between pain and pleasure, this is a lovely dildo. The two tips scratch against one's front vaginal wall in a pleasing manner1, and the Reaper's ridges make for great thrusting. I found doggy style put too much weight on the dildo's pointy areas, and crossed toeing the pleasure/pain line to death-needs-to-get-out-of-my-vagina-now. Also spinning death around while inserted was a terrible idea. Theoretically this toy can be used anally, though I suspect tears would be rather likely.

As the Reaper's hood overhangs its skull, this is a rather loud and squelchy toy.2 This is the only insertable toy I've ever used that has made me sore. That being said, I still anticipate using it for high energy/adrenalin self play. And if you're into that, or any sexual pain play, this is a fabulous dildo.

1If you want a gentler toy for front vaginal wall stimulation, check out the Cush
2 Also if you fall asleep post-orgasm and thus don't clean Grim, when you wake up your toy may have a cum grill.

Grade Breakdown: 70

Value: 3/5

Aesthetics: 16/20
Also comes in gray,
I find the other DI toys prettier.

Pleasure: 51/75
Intended Function: 2/5
Reusability: 14/20
 For a solid silicone toy, this is the most annoying one to clean;
even after a bath, I still had to toothbrush scrub clean the face.
Best Function: 35/50
Bittersweet orgasms.
This is the dildo if you want to ride that line.
Otherwise, for gentler with tons of texture, the Devil,
or smaller and smoother- God's Immaculate Rod.

Xar the Karabos

For today's review, I'll be looking at Xar by Bad Dragon. As always, click any image to see a larger version!

Side:
Suction cup base:
 Suctioned:
 Shaft:
Compared to a medium gryphon and medium bruiser:

Xar is a monster. A glorious monster to be sure, but a monster made of silicone all the same. This hefty two-pound1 beast is excellent to place weight on orifices or consensually slap people with. This Xar is a medium, but they also come slightly smaller, and much, much larger- see the dimensions chart below.

                                         Dimensions (inches)SmallMediumLargeExtra Large
                                   Diameter of Head1.501.902.402.90
                                            Circumference of Head5.005.757.209.00
                                   Diameter of Shaft1.501.752.152.80
                                           Circumference of Shaft5.005.907.309.40
                                  Diameter of Knot2.202.603.204.10
                                          Circumference of Knot6.908.2010.0013.00
                            Usable Length5.506.508.0010.30
                        Total Length6.707.909.7012.50

For firmness, I decided to do the wide split. This means that the shaft is a soft firmness and the base is firm; for myself and this size, this was the best possible firmness. The soft squishy shaft allowed me to insert far more than I could have if it were a medium or firm. And the firm base allowed for textured friction, and stiffer ridges. Alternatively one can get a medium/firm split, or entirely soft, medium, or firm.

Color-wise, I went with surprise me with a note to go crazy. I'm very pleased with the level of crazy achieved; the base is a sea foam green sheen with brown poking through in places and the shaft has a blue and golden marbling. Bad Dragon can do any custom color(s), marbling, splits, metallics and glow-in-the-dark. The flops page has toys with minor defects, and some are very cool looking franken pours2. This month, there's a lovely metallic orange and black marbling called sinister pumpkin for Halloween.

You can also get either a cum tube or suction cup with Xar, and if you go with the extra large size, you can get both. I went with the suction cup as I like having dragon dildos hanging on my walls. Suction cups are also great if you want to stabilize shower play. On the flip side, a cum tube makes sure you stay properly lubricated and makes for awesome lube fights. And with the Xar, lots of water-based lube is necessary with its bumps and huge knot.

Bad Dragon now also offers character print images, and prompts the option when creating a toy. If you'd rather get a ready-made toy, there are currently many black Xars in stock and a brilliant crimson one.

Xar is not a toy I would recommend to anyone starting out with insertion play. For a more common size comparison, Xar's knot is a little over half an inch wider than Maverick. This feels like the widest dildo I currently own, and is always a delightful challenge. My medium Bruiser is actually a little bit wider, but as its shaft is thinner, it's easier to knot. For the stretchy and adventurous, Xar is a lovely dildo. It has a rounder top, interesting divots, and tons of texture around the base. Its fun base makes it both harness and anal friendly. I only used this dildo vaginally, and happily its head did not hook or pop under my pubic bone, which may have been because it was cast soft. With its almost conical shape, it's a fantastic dildo for doggy style, and in that position I found it easiest to hit my g-spot.

1 I'm going by the shipping package weight. I don't have a scale, but I totally trust fedex.

Flash

For today's review, I'll be looking at the Flash by Lovehoney.  As always, click any image to see a larger version!

 Side:
 Size comparison:
Open (from Lovehoney.com) :
Thus far, I've reviewed two other vibrators made by Lovehoney- the Sqweel 2 and Happy Rabbit Natural. Both of these were decent vibrators, and had the potential to be awesome for the right user. The Flash unfortunately does not meet these standards.

Flash is, like its namesake, flashy- a small toy that can easily be traveled with, it charges via usb, has multiple modes and a single power button to flicker through them all. However its vibrations are buzzy and surface-level, rather than deep1. If you are rather sensitive, or want to use this vibrator solely for teasing, then it works. I found it particularly great for orgasm denial play. Though given the level of its buzziness, it can invoke temporary numbness.

The Flash has a silicone finish, so you want to stick with water-based lubricants. It's also marketed as waterproof; however the two halves pull apart easily, and I wouldn't use it underwater. I found its noise level greatly fluctuated, sometimes it was quiet, like a single bee buzzing, and other times the entire hive was active. This toy has a contoured tip, which didn't affect my experience positively or negatively.

I really wanted to love this vibrator- from its sleek and simple appearance, to how easily it can discretely charge off my laptop. Hopefully a second version will come out, with a vastly stronger and rumbly motor.

1Such as say the We-Vibe Salsa or Touch.

Grade Breakdown: 65

Value: 1/5
Not worth it unless you really like buzzy vibrations.

Aesthetics: 19/20
Overall I like its appearance,
though I'd prefer the lovehoney band be made of a nicer metal.

Pleasure: 45/75
Intended Functionality: 2/5
Easy to use, but not powerful.
Reusability: 18/20
Can be quickly wiped down with a toy cleaner,
and charges quickly.
Best Functionality: 25/50
I found its best use was teasing and foreplay,
it simply produced bland orgasms.

Thanks Lovehoney!

iGino One

For today's review I'll be looking at the iGino One by iGino. As always, click any image to see a larger version!

Front:
 Cover and usb:
 Size comparison:
 Box, bag, chargers, foam bits:

The iGino One is a small external vibrator, in a bright white and pink ABS plastic. This vibrator has a few positives, one being that if one gets the travel version it comes has with a US and European charger. It also has the capability to charge with a computer via usb. Technically this vibrator is on the discrete side as it appears more like a cell phone than anything else, and the color scheme is rather reminiscent of Hello Kitty. There is a plastic cover to protect the toy portion from dust which is pretty cool.

Unfortunately, that is the end of this product's positive high notes. The iGino's motor is rather loud and buzzy- high pitched and loud enough to be more annoying than a Hitachi. I found attempting to use the iGino for any long amount of time resulted in far more headaches than orgasms. Though the iGino oscillates,1 the buzzing portion is too short for the oscillations to be effective, or even strongly distinctive from vibrations. If the vibrating portion were less of a nub, and could cover more area, this would work far better for myself.

iGino notes that this vibrator can be used between couples, however this only seems to be true if the vulva owner(s) have flat or concave mons pubis, otherwise there is a lot of jostling and simply not stimulating the clitoral area. The iGino One only has one speed, and is on the powerful side of things. Theoretically one can use the different slim foam bits and vary pressure to try and establish different speeds, though I didn't have much luck with this.

This toy takes twelve hours to charge using the USB port, and only charges the toy for forty minutes. Forty minutes. I would expect that kind of ratio for a strong solar powered vibrator. Beyond this though, I would not suggest sharing this toy with anyone you have not fluid bound with. The foamy section seems porous, however the rest of the ABS plastic can be wiped down to sanitize it.

This was iGino's first foray into the sex toy world, and even though it didn't take off to the moon- it was made of safe materials and by a company that wants to help people find pleasure. I hope to see another version or model by iGino in the future.

1 This is what originally drew me to this product despite the cringeworthy tag line of "what women want".

Grade Breakdown: 58

Value: 1/5
$100 for a one-speed vibrator...

Aesthetics: 16/20
I keep flipping between finding this toy cute,
and far too bright.

Pleasure: 41/75
Intended Functionality: 1/5
I wanted the oscillations to be distinctive.
Reusability: 16/20
The plastic is easily cleaned,
and one can opt out of using the foamy bits.
Best Functionality 24/50
As a clitoral vibrator,
crushed under multiple pillows to dull the noise.

Countess Clit Dildo

For today's review, I'll be looking at the Countess Clit Dildo by Sh! As always, click any image to see a larger version.

 Sides:

The Countess Clit Dildo is a modest six inches, with four rings. This dildo has a lovely futuristic sleek look to it, and also comes in purple, pink, and pure black. There is also a vibrating version of this toy. Countess Clit is in Sh!'s regal line, they have seven other lines and a limited edition section (which includes glow in the dark dildos).

This dildo is pure silicone1 and thus requires a water-based lubricant. This silicone is fairly firm, so the rings are distinct, but still has a bit of flexibility. The rarity of dildos having clitoris intended attachments makes far more sense to me now- the attachment could provide clitoral pressure, but only if one is grinding against it, and if it ends up hitting one's clitoris. When thrusting for example, the attachment tended to hit above my clit. For users wanting clitoral stimulation, I'd heavily suggest going with the vibrating version. Regardless, the dildo was lovely. The four rings make for strong sensations, especially upon entry. Countess Clit gets gradually larger to provide a gentle entry, and is angled for g-zone stimulation.

Unfortunately this dildo has a rather thin heart shaped base standard for Sh! dildos, and is too slim and flexible for myself. This made it awkward to hold during use, and would occasionally mess up my thrusts. Over time I've gotten used to the base, it just requires slightly different handling. These bases also make all Sh! dildos anal friendly and harness friendly. The Countess Clit isn't the best with a harness, as trying to match up the tiny arm exactly with a partner's clitoris isn't the easiest. To clean, one can boil, use toycleaner, or hand wash with warm water and soap.

1 Passed a flames test.

Grade Breakdown: 82

Value: 3/5
On the pricey side, especially if the non-vibrating-arm doesn't work for you.
If you're interested, I'd go with the vibrating one
and then you can also turn the vibrations off.
(Their dildos also come with a one year guarantee.)

Aesthetics: 20/20
This dildo is super sleek and gorgeous,
and even has gold glitter embedded in it.

Pleasure: 59/75
Intended Functionality: 2/5
The clitoral arm didn't work for me.
Reusability: 16/20
Easily cleaned, and can serve multiple purposes.
Best Functionality 41/50
Vaginal masturbation, and providing g-zone stimulation.

Joque

For today's review, I'll be looking at the Joque by Spareparts. As always, click any image to see the larger version!

Front:
 Back:
 With Leo:

The Joque is a light double strap vegan harness that allows for two bullet vibrators and a dildo. The back is a giant adjustable velcro strap for easy putting on and taking off. The leg straps can also adjust significantly, and have sharp little teeth so they remain stable. This harness comes in black, white, red, pink, blue, and purple.

The double strap style allows for anal play while wearing the harness, and also creates some cute butt cleavage. This style also allows you to fit snugly in the harness, and for it to remain fitting you even if your weight fluctuates, or to potentially fit a partner. I've found this harness very comfortable to wear on its own, or on top of leggings or underwear. Given how comfortable it is, someone could pack with it, or use Pete to pack a little more securely. Joque thrusts extremely well, and follows your hip movements perfectly due to the snugly fitting straps. Since it is made of fabric, vulva-owning users will be able to feel every thrust they make- which can get a shade distracting. (Cock-owners may want to check out the Deuce harness.)

This harness can be used with a double ended dildo, such as the Tango, as long as you slide the inner fabric to the side. When using a typical dildo, this fabric covers the base of the dildo to avoid chaffing. There are two spots for bullet vibrators, these are mostly for the person wearing the harness though the receiver may feel some faint vibrations. Joque can be hand washed, or in a washing machine with delicates.

Sizing

Size A:
Belt- 20-50 inches
Leg Straps- 10-16 inches

Size B:
Belt- 35-65 inches
Leg Straps- 14-24 inches

O-Ring:
Diameter- 1.25-2 inches
Circumference- 3.92-6.28 inches

The Joque comes in a lovely storage pouch, and comes with a one-year warranty. All in all this is a comfortable and flexible harness, and would make a great first harness.

Grade Breakdown: 93

Value: 3/5
It's certainly pricey,
if you can snag one on sale somewhere certainly do that.

Aesthetics: 15/20
The all white one is pretty sexy,
the other colors I'm fairly 'meh' on.

Pleasure: 75/75
Intended Functionality: 5/5
Lovely harness.
Reusability: 20/20
Can easily clean any bodily fluids or lube off of it.
Best Functionality: 50/50
As a play harness,
I can't think of any functional drawbacks.

Little Rooster

For today's review I'll be looking at the Little Rooster, a vibrating alarm cock. As always, click any image to see a larger version!

Front:
 Side:
 Back:

With thirty different levels of vibration to wake you up, the Little Rooster can rouse any vulva owner from sleeping. This toy is made of hard plastic, and is worn completely externally in a pair of panties. The flat base rests against one's pubic bone, and the vibrating stem against one's labia. The toy stays in place surprisingly well, and does not move even if one moves a lot while sleeping. The Little Rooster has both a play setting, to be used like an average bullet vibrator, and an alarm mode to wake one up.

Though the Little Rooster certainly makes waking up more pleasant, it does not make it any easier. The toy starts off at the vibration level you choose, increasing in intensity over time, and remaining at the highest level you specify for eight minutes before shutting off and beeping. At any point during this, a snooze button can be pushed and all vibrations will cease for ten minutes. For myself, having an orgasm that close to waking up just puts me back to sleep. Luckily, this toy is also excellent in its own right. The first twenty-six levels of vibration are almost silent, making this a great choice for anyone who wants to subtly engage in public play. As the Little Rooster stays in place, even while thrusting, it can also be worn with some harnesses, such as the Joque. This was my favorite use of the vibrator, as other bullet vibes must be put in pockets and thus have their vibrations dimmed, the Little Rooster can go directly between the harness and flesh.

The Little Rooster recharges via USB connection, and can be cleaned by wiping it down with a toy cleaner or warm water and soap. Be sure to avoid cleaning the open port, and not to fully submerge this vibrator in water. This toy comes with a thorough and clear instruction manual, and also a small storage bag.

Grade Breakdown: 92

Value: 3/5
$69 each, or $269 for six ($45 each)
$45 is the perfect price for this toy,
and if you have five friends who are down, definitely do that.
At seventy, if you're really into the concept,
and think it'll work for you, it may be worth it.

Aesthetics: 17/20
It's sleek, and the purple version is pretty.

Pleasure: 72/75
Intended Functionality: 2/5
Fun way to wake up, unfortunately didn't keep me up.
Reusability: 20/20
Easy to clean, can be used in many different situations.
Best Functionality: 50/50
Being used with a harness.

Siren

For today's review, I'll be looking at the Siren by Pleasure Works. As always, click any image to see a larger version!

 With RodeoH Brief:

The Siren is a fairly typical silicone dildo, and it comes in purple and black. It has a pronounced head for p-spot or g-spot stimulation, and is o-ring harness compatible. The wide base may make it harder for people with smaller hands to grip this toy. The silicone is fairly tacky feeling1 and attracts quite a bit of lint.

As this dildo is on the thin side, an inch and a half width, it works well as a beginning p-spotting or g-spotting dildo. It only applies a little pressure to these spots though, so if you're looking for a more intense feeling, God's Immaculate Rod or the D1 would work better. Although it has some flexibility, it's not squishy, making it excellent for anal play. With its simple design, the Siren thrusts rather well. Most will want to use a water-based lube, as this dildo has quite a bit of drag without it, and may be painful. Though I found this toy fun to use with other partners, it was a shade too dull for my own solo use. If it had a squishier material or pressed against my g-spot more firmly, I would have preferred it far more.

This dildo is easily cleaned via boiling, or hand washing with warm water and soap. The Siren comes in a simple cardboard box and plastic bag, neither of which are adequate for storage purposes.

1 Tacky as it is, it did pass a flame test indicating that it is pure silicone.

Grade Breakdown: 82

Value: 3/5
This is a bit steep for this dildo,
were it on sale for $30, it'd be worth it.

Aesthetics: 16/20
Overall it's fairly simple,
though the purple has some pretty swirls.

Pleasure: 63/75
Intended Functionality: 3/5
For anyone who wants penetration.

Halo

For today's review, I'll be looking at the Halo by Happy Valley Silicone, in the Fuze line. Click any image to see the larger version!

 Size Comparison:

This squishy silicone matte plug by Fuze is the second Happy Valley Silicone plug I've reviewed, and once again, I wanted to like it far more than I did. The Halo is made of a high grade silicone1 which is rather flexible and comfortable, making it comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. The small ridges all over the plug hold lube well. Dimension-wise the Halo is 1 3/8'' by 4'', so it is on the longer side. This ensures that the plug stays in place, and I have yet to have it pop out during orgasm.

The base of this plug is a ring and either a finger or bullet vibe can be used as a flange. Be sure to place something in the ring so that an emergency room visit isn't necessary. Most bullet vibes should fit, I found Jimmyjane's Little Chroma to just fit while stretching the ring a bit. All of the Fuze plugs have this design, with a ring for a flange. This is particularly brilliant as it allows for boiling the toy on its own, and for effective vibrations to be easily added.

Though the bendy aspects of the silicone make it comfortable to wear (especially for long periods of time), they do not make it easy to insert. I often found when inserting that the long stem would bend and make insertion difficult. The pleasure plugs with a rounded tip were far easier to insert, and I would recommend starting there if you're new to butt plugs.

If you're interested in a plug that's similar to the Halo, but want something slightly easier to manage, Fuze also offers the Hero and Whirl. Hero is like the Halo but smooth, and Whirl is a smaller version of the Halo.

1 Passed a flame test.

Grade Breakdown: 69

Value: 3/5

Aesthetics: 11/20
Though the shape is pretty, the matte black isn't nearly as cute as other HVS plugs.

Pleasure: 55/75
Intended Functionality: 3/5
Reusability: 19/20
Can be boiled sans vibrator.
Best Functionality: 33/50
As a long-use plug, which works great once inserted.

Tango

For today's review, I'll be looking at the Tango by Happy Valley Silicone in the Fuze line. As always, click any image to see the larger version!

 Front:
 Slot for bullet vibe:
 Giver portion:

The first thing that caught my eye with this double ended dildo was its ridges that provide clitoral or perineum stimulation. In theory, this is a strapless strap-on that doesn't require anything further for use. The Tango is made of a firm pure silicone and has a small reservoir for a bullet vibrator. Using a bullet vibrator will provide some external stimulation for the giver, and a small amount of internal stimulation for both the giver and receiver. The Tango also comes in a lovely light blue.

The Tango has a smooth finish which makes it slightly more difficult to grip as the giver. For myself, the giving portion would slip out a half inch or so during partner or solo use. The receiving end benefits from the smooth finish though, and is easily inserted for vaginal or anal use. It's also on the slimmer side, making it more accessible to more users. For the giver portion, too much lube will make it difficult to maneuver Tango without it slipping out. When using a bullet vibrator, I found a drop of lube aided insertion and removal of the vibrator without making it too slippery to stay in the reservoir. Make sure to use a water-based lube, as a silicone one will destroy this toy. Jimmyjane's Little Chroma just fit, and due to its length, also provided extra external stimulation.

For myself, the Tango wasn't that great for solo play. Though the ridges made for clitoral stimulation, the internal portion was a little too small and didn't touch my g-spot. Though for other people with closer spots, the curve may be enough for g-spot or p-spot stimulation. The giving portion of the Tango is meant for people who like smaller and slimmer stubs. For partner play, the Tango unfortunately does not stay put. Either a harness that allows for a double ended dildo, or a spare hand is necessary for thrusting with Tango.

The Tango attracts a ton of lint, and needs to be cleaned before and after every use. This can be done, after removing the bullet, via boiling, a dishwasher, a 10% bleach solution, or warm water and soap. The Tango is made of high quality materials, and may work well for other users, the exact shape simply did not work well for myself.

Grade Breakdown: 72

Value: 2/5

Aesthetics: 16/20
I prefer the light blue version, the black is a bit bland.

D1

For today's review, I'll be looking at D1 by Maia. Click any image to see a larger version!

Colors:
 Suction Cupped:

This medical grade silicone1 dildo is rather girthy, checking in around 1.6 inches wide. This is especially dramatic as the silicone is very stiff and has almost no squish. The two ridges are angled perfectly to create a feeling of fullness. Unfortunately, the way they are angled creates a pop whenever passing the pubic bone. Thus I found large thrusts rather uncomfortable with this dildo, though minor thrusts were fine and pressed against my g-spot. Due to its firmness and width, be sure to use a lot of water-based lube with this toy.

The D1 comes in neon pink and purple. The bottom is a suction cup, which works well on flat surfaces. As the D1 has a base, it's both harness compatible and anally safe. The thin base also manipulates well with one hand. Like most Maia toys, the D1 comes with a bright drawstring bag that matches the color of the toy.

For cleaning, warm water and soap, toycleaner, using a 10% bleach solution, or boiling will all do the trick. Even though this is a silicone dildo, it doesn't attract lint which is lovely. All in all, I would not recommend the D1 unless you really enjoy girthy toys, especially as it is very firm with almost no give. Though if you like girthy, firm, and textured toys- this is definitely one to consider.
